It shall be illegal for the exhibitor of any motion picture which has been rated as an "X" motion picture to permit the viewing thereof by any person under the age of 17 years. Such exhibitor shall be permitted and is hereby required to demand that any person whom the exhibitor might reasonably suspect to be less than 17 years of age to furnish satisfactory proof of his or her age and to refuse such person admission to the viewing thereof if such person does not furnish such proof.
It shall be illegal for any person wishing to attend an X-rated motion picture to:
A. 
Refuse to furnish to the exhibitor of such motion picture proof of his or her age when reasonably requested to do so; or
B. 
Furnish false proof or evidence that he or she is 18 years of age or over.
The provisions of this article are limited to the boundaries of the city.
Whoever violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than $50 and not more than $600 and the costs of prosecution.
