The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners is hereby created. The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners shall consist of five citizens appointed by the Village President, subject to confirmation by the Village Board, and serving such terms of office as required by Wisconsin statutes.
The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners shall:
A. 
Have the authority to appoint and remove the Police and/or Fire Chief in accordance with Wisconsin statutes.
B. 
Administer examinations and prepare eligible lists for the appointment and promotion of uniformed personnel of the Police and Fire Departments, in accordance with Wisconsin statutes.
C. 
Serve as an appeals board in cases of dismissals and suspensions of Police and Fire Department uniformed personnel.
D. 
Have such other authority and duties as prescribed by Wisconsin statutes.
