This chapter is adopted for the purpose of promoting the general health,
safety and welfare of the Town and for the purpose of regulating the use of
trailers within the limits of the Town.
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to be applicable
to trailers located within the limits of the Town at the time of the enactment
of this chapter or to trailer sales lots on which trailers are parked for
the purposes of inspection and sale, nor should anything contained herein
be construed to prevent the owner of a trailer from replacing said trailer
which is located within the confines of the Town at the time of the enactment
of this chapter. Neither shall this chapter apply to a trailer used by a person
in conjunction with the erection of any building or facility or in pursuance
of any public works project within the limits of the Town; provided, however,
that nothing herein contained shall be construed as to permit the moving of
a trailer described in this section from one location in the Town to another
location in the Town.
A.
It shall be unlawful within the limits of the Town for
any person to park, store or place any trailer on any street, alley, highway
or other public place or on any lot, tract or parcel of land owned by any
person, occupied or unoccupied within the Town, except as provided in this
chapter.
B.
Emergency or temporary stopping or parking is permitted
on any street or highway for not longer than one hours, subject to any other
and further prohibitions, regulations or limitations imposed by the traffic
and parking regulations or ordinances for that street or highway.
C.
No person shall park or occupy any trailer on the premises
of any occupied dwelling or on any lot, tract or parcel of land which is not
a part of the premises of any occupied dwelling, except that the parking of
only one unoccupied trailer in an accessory private garage or in a rear yard
in any district is permitted, provided no living quarters shall be maintained
or any business practiced in said trailer while such trailer is so parked
or stored.
