A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Municipal Clerk of the Borough of Medford Lakes, being marked and designated as the 2021 International Property Maintenance Code as published by the International Code Council, Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the Property Maintenance Code of the Borough of Medford Lakes, New Jersey; for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Property Maintenance Code are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in § 181-9 of this chapter. All property owners and residents of the Borough of Medford Lakes shall be subject to and shall comply with the provisions of the International Property Maintenance Code as adopted herein, and failure to comply shall be a violation of this chapter in accord with § 181-9F.
The following sections are hereby revised:
A. 
Section 101.1: Insert "Borough of Medford Lakes."

Section 111. – Delete entire section providing "Means of Appeal" and insert:

Jurisdiction on citations or appeals from citations shall be with the Municipal Court. Any person, firm, corporation, association or legal party whatsoever who or which shall violate, or authorize or procure a violation, or cause to be violated, any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided under the general penalty provisions found at § 1-15 of this Code. This, however, shall not apply against any municipal employee or officer that authorizes action by permit or otherwise in the ordinary course of their duties.
Nothing in this article or in the Property Maintenance Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 500; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this article.
