These general rules shall apply to the municipal golf driving facility operated by the City of Ventnor City.
The following general rules shall apply to the municipal golf driving facility at all times:
Players shall observe proper golf etiquette at all times.
Golf facility manager, attendants and golf professionals hired by the City of Ventnor City are in complete charge of the facility and have the right to eject any person for actions that are offensive or detrimental to the well-being of other players at the facility.
Profane language and the drinking of alcoholic beverages are prohibited within the range facility, and, likewise, food and soft drinks are not permitted within the driving stalls.
Appropriate shoes/sneakers and proper attire must be worn at all times. Brief bathing suits are not permitted and tops must be worn by all players.
No animals or pets of any kind are permitted in or around the golf facility.
Persons must use the facility in a manner so as not to interfere with other participants at the adjoining stalls. At no time may a participant exit or retrieve a ball from the front of any stall.
The facility shall be open at 8:30 a.m. and remain open until dusk, as defined by the National Weather Service. If it is deemed advisable to extend the hours of operation, the Ventnor City Board of Commissioners shall be within its determination to do so.
The City of Ventnor City is authorized to engage one or more teaching professionals so as to establish a comprehensive golf lesson program. With the exception of such teaching professionals as the City of Ventnor City may hire, instruction for profit at the facility shall be prohibited. In the case where instructions are given on a free basis, the individual or individuals desiring to do so, while using the facility, must first seek approval from the Ventnor City Board of Commissioners.
The fee schedule shall set forth all rates for the facility, as well as any item in the pro shop and food concession. During the first year of operation, the Ventnor City Board of Commissioners shall adopt said resolution setting forth such schedule prior to the facility opening. The determination of the fee schedule shall be posted conspicuously at City Hall and the facility for view by its citizens.
The City of Ventnor City reserves the right to establish such other rules and regulations from time to time as may be necessary for the proper operation of the facility.
Any person or persons violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof in the Municipal Court of Ventnor City, be subject to a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $1,000. In addition to or as a substitute for the previously mentioned fine, the imposition of community service shall be authorized as an additional penalty, which community service shall not exceed 90 days.
