[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Upper Uwchlan 12-4-1989 by Ord. No. 89-08. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Supervisors of this Township hereby signifies its intention to organize an Authority, under the provision of the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945 (Act of May 2, 1945, P. L. 382, as amended),[1] to be named "Upper Uwchlan Township Municipal Authority."

In pursuance of said intention, the Articles of Incorporation of the said Authority are hereby approved and adopted the following form.[1]

Those members of the Board of said Authority, who are named in the aforesaid Articles of Incorporation as being appointed by this Township, are hereby specifically appointed members of said Board for the terms set forth after their respective names and commencing on the date of appointment and computed from the first day of January 1990.
The Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of this Township is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Articles of Incorporation on behalf of said Township, with such changes therein as the signer may approve, and the Secretary or Assistant Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to affix thereto and attest the Seal of said Township. Said officers are further authorized and directed to cause a notice of intention to file said Articles of Incorporation to be published as required by law, and to file said Articles of Incorporation together with a certified copy of this chapter and required proofs of publication with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to take all such action as they may deem necessary or appropriate to establish said Authority and carry out the intention of this chapter.
The initial project to be undertaken by the said Authority is to take management responsibility and ownership of existing proposed and future community on-lot disposal systems as defined pursuant to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and regulations of the Department of Environmental Protection and to acquire, hold, construct, improve, maintain, operate, own and lease, either in the capacity of lessor or lessee, sewers, sewer systems or parts thereof, sewage treatment works, including works for treating and disposing of industrial waste, and provide, by contract or otherwise, sewage collection, transportation or treatment services all as relating to community on-lot disposal systems within the Township of Upper Uwchlan and for such other territory as the Board of Supervisors of Upper Uwchlan Township may hereafter approve.
