Tompkins County, NY Chapter 19 County Property, Sale or Lease of

§ 19-1 Authorization to sell without bidding.

The County of Tompkins is authorized to lease or sell county real property no longer needed for public use for adequate consideration to a private entity or entities without bidding, provided that the county shall first determine that said property is no longer needed for public use in accordance with § 215 of the County Law.

§ 19-2 Notice of meeting.

Notice of the meeting at which the Board will consider the determination that a particular parcel is no longer needed for public use shall be advertised in the official newspapers 10 days in advance of the meeting.

§ 19-3 Authorization to lease for up to 99 years.

The County of Tompkins is authorized to lease real property no longer needed for public use for a term of up to 99 years.

§ 19-4 Section adopted subject to permissive referendum.

Section 19-3 is adopted subject to permissive referendum pursuant to § 24 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.[1]
