in letters up to three feet high on the area where the parking is
prohibited.
C.Â
By further reference and amendment to this section, the Borough Council
may add to or subtract from the list of areas where parking is prohibited
under this section and where the Fire Marshal shall exercise the duties
and authority specified in this section.
D.Â
In addition to the duties and authority given to the Fire Marshal
by other provisions of this section, the Fire Marshal of Lansdowne
Borough is hereby given authority and discretion during the actual
duration of any actual fire or other temporary emergency to post temporary
signs reading "No parking — temporary fire regulation by order
of the Fire Marshal" on public or private property whenever he shall
determine that temporarily the parking of motor vehicles on such property
would create an unreasonable, temporary hazard to public health, safety
and welfare in that such temporary parking would unreasonably interfere
with the lawful and necessary operation of the Fire Department or
hamper the egress and protection of occupants of buildings and their
property in case of fire or other temporary emergency. Upon the termination
of such fire or other temporary emergency, the Fire Marshal shall
remove the signs.
E.Â
Any person who shall violate this section by parking or allowing
to remain parked a motor vehicle where and when the parking of such
vehicle is prohibited by this section shall, upon summary conviction
thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $15 and costs of prosecution
upon conviction. Such fines or penalties shall be collected as like
fines or penalties are now by law collected.
