A.
The Virginia General Assembly did adopt legislation known
as the "Line of Duty Act" (Virginia Code Annotated § 2.1-133.5 et
seq.) whereby certain benefits are to be paid to certain individuals whose
death occurs as the direct or proximate result of the performance of their
duties.
B.
It is the desire of the Board of Supervisors of Mathews
County, Virginia, that certain departments, companies and organizations be
recognized as being an integral part of the Official Safety Program of this
county in order that such benefits provided by the General Assembly might
be available to the members thereof.
The active members of the Mathews County Volunteer Fire Department,
Incorporated, a non-stock Virginia corporation, and the Mathews Volunteer
Rescue Squad thereof are hereby recognized as an integral part of the Official
Safety Program of this county.
