[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Unity 3-7-1962 by Ord. No. 1-1962. Amendments noted where applicable.]

Pursuant to the provisions of 53 P.S. § 10201 et seq., there is hereby created a Township Planning Commission, which shall be known as the "Unity Township Planning Commission," consisting of five members, all of whom shall be residents of the Township and shall hold no other Township office except that of member of a Township Zoning Hearing Board, if and when one is created and established.
The members of the Township Planning Commission shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors, shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses and shall not be removed from office except by the Board of Supervisors for inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office, and then only after a public hearing, all of which shall be as provided for in the aforesaid statutory provisions.
The Township Planning Commission is hereby given all the powers and duties prescribed in the aforesaid statutory provisions.[1]
