[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Boonton 12-7-48 as Ord. No. 54. Section 9-2 amended at time of adoption of Code; see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art I. Other amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby created a court to be known as the "Municipal Court of the Township of Boonton," pursuant to Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948, the amendments thereof and supplements thereto.[1]

A. 
The Judge thereof shall be known as the "Municipal Court Judge" and shall be appointed by the Township Committee, and he shall have such qualifications and exercise such jurisdiction, powers and duties as are set forth in said Act.
B. 
The compensation of said Judge is hereby fixed at the rate set forth in the most current Salary Ordinance[2] and shall be paid by the Township Committee.

Upon the final passage of this chapter, all unfinished cases and records of the Recorder's Court shall be transferred to the Municipal Court, and said Recorder's Court shall cease and determine.
