It shall be the function of the Board to concern
itself with the state of health of all persons in the Borough, establishing
programs, providing information and taking preventive measures to
upgrade the level of general health. The Board shall further devote
itself to the protection of the general public against exposure to
disease and other occurrences detrimental to public health. In addition
to its own regulations, the Board shall also administer the enforcement
of all statutes, laws, codes, regulations and other instructions promulgated
by the state, State Health Department and the Borough that falls within
its jurisdiction.
The Board shall determine and establish the
rules of its own proceedings and shall pass, promulgate or adopt such
rules, regulations, orders, ordinances, bylaws and resolutions pertaining
to the purposes and objectives of the Board as may be necessary to
carry out properly the provisions of applicable state laws governing
the powers and duties of local boards of health.
