A. 
Before a permit for the demolition of any building is issued, the Construction Official shall require the applicant for said demolition to rat bait the building to be demolished not less than seven days nor more than 30 days prior to the commencement of said demolition, in a manner to be approved by the Health Officer.
B. 
No rat baiting shall be commenced until the premises being rat baited has been completed vacated and all food materials or edible residues have been removed from the building.
C. 
No permit for the demolition of any building shall be issued prior to a certification from the Health Division signifying its approval of said demolition.

Any person who violates any provision of this Article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000, by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or by a period of community service for not more than 90 days, or any combination thereof.

A. 
The demolition of a building or structure shall be completed within 60 days of the issuance of a demolition permit. The Building Inspector of the City of Paterson may grant an additional thirty-day extension to complete the demolition upon written application by the applicant setting forth reasonable and sufficient reasons for such extension. No further extensions shall be permitted.
B. 
In the event that the property owner has not completed the demolition of the building or structure as set forth herein, the city may take such action to demolish the building or structure as set forth in Chapter 157, Buildings, Dangerous and Unfit, of the Code of the City of Paterson. In that event, the city shall be entitled to any and all remedies provided within Chapter 157.
C. 
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 per day for each day beyond the time period required by this article to demolish the building or structure, or as may have been extended by the Building Inspector, be imprisoned for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service for not more than 90 days, or any combination thereof.
