[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of Paterson 12-18-1979 by Ord. No. 79-111 as Ch. 8, Art. 4, of the 1979 Revised General Ordinances of Paterson; amended in its entirety 3-1-1983 by Ord. No. 83-010. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
A. 
The owner or occupant of every building in the city shall, at his or its own cost and expense, place and maintain upon such building, immediately upon completion or within sixty (60) days of ownership or occupancy, the street number of such building. The street number shall be conspicuously displayed on the side of the building facing the street.
B. 
The number shall conform to the lot number as shown on the current Tax Map of the city and shall be made large enough so that the same may be clearly visible from the street.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.), by imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days or by a period of community service for not more than ninety (90) days, or any combination thereof.
