No person shall spit:
A.
Upon the sidewalk of any public street or upon any part
of the interior or exterior of any public building or public conveyance.
B.
Upon the floor of any building used in common by the
tenants thereof.
C.
Upon the floor of any hall or office in any hotel, motel
or lodging house used in common.
D.
Upon the floor of any theater, store, factory or any
other building or premises which is used as a place of public amusement or
public accommodation or otherwise used in common by the public.
E.
Upon the floor of any railroad car, bus or other public
conveyance.
F.
Upon the platform, stairs or floor of any depot or station
of any railroad or other common carrier.
G.
Into the street from the cars, stairs or platforms of
such railroad or other common carrier in the city.
For the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this chapter, the Health
Officer, the sanitary inspectors and the authorized employees of the Health
Division and any police officer shall have full and free access and right
of ingress and egress to and from all places referred to in the preceding
section of this chapter.
Any person who shall obstruct or in any way interfere with the Health
Officer, the sanitary inspectors or other employees of the Health Division
or with any police officer in the performance of any of his duties under this
chapter shall be guilty of a violation of this chapter.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction
thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.),
by imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days or by a period of
community service for not more than ninety (90) days, or any combination thereof.
A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which
a violation occurs or continues.
