A. 
The terms used herein shall have the meanings as such terms are defined in the Energy Conservation Construction Code, unless the context requires a different meaning.
B. 
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BUILDING INSPECTOR
The Town of Malta's Building Inspector, who is also known as the "Town of Malta's Zoning Enforcement Officer."
CODE
The State Energy Conservation Construction Code.
The code shall be administered and enforced by the Building Inspector in the same manner, to the same extent as and in accordance with the procedure applicable to the Town Construction Code and other applicable local laws, except as otherwise provided.
A. 
Plans and specifications for construction of a building prepared by a licensed professional and certified by him that they are in compliance with the code shall be deemed acceptable under the code to the Building Inspector for the purpose of issuing a building permit or other similar approval necessary to commence construction.
B. 
A certification by a licensed professional that construction has been completed in compliance with the code may be accepted by the building inspector as evidence of such compliance for the purpose of issuing a certificate of occupancy or other similar approval or authorization for occupancy or use of the building.
If the Building Inspector determines that a building subject to the code is not in compliance with such code, he shall allow the applicant for the requested permit or certificate at least 30 days to comply with the State Energy Conservation Construction Code. Upon evidence of compliance with such code, the Building Inspector may issue the requested permit or certification.
