The Township hereby adopts by reference Public
Act Number 175 of 1927, as amended (MCL § 771-1).
All references in the act to "governmental unit"
or "township" shall mean the Township of Grosse Ile.
The purpose of this article is to allow the
court under certain limited circumstances to accept a plea and to
delay sentencing to provide the defendant with an opportunity to prove
his eligibility for probation or for other leniency compatible with
the ends of justice.
This article shall be published within 30 days
after passage in a newspaper circulating within the Township.
