[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Township of Mount Olive 4-26-1977 by Ord. No. 9-77 (Ch. 167 of the 1990 Code). Amendments note where applicable.]
It is the purpose of this chapter to require certain information from the operators of nursing homes within the Township of Mount Olive with respect to the residents of said nursing homes so that that information is readily available during times of emergency.
For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
NURSING HOME
Consists of any facility providing room, board, medical care and other necessary services to any person requiring the same, having more than four resident patients. Included in this definition of "nursing homes" are boarding homes providing only room and board to senior citizens over the age of 50 years, without necessarily providing medical care. Also included are boarding homes for shelter care as defined in N.J.S.A. 30:11-8[1] and similar facilities not limited only to adults.

A. 
All such nursing homes, as defined in § 274-2 above, shall, within 20 days of the adoption of this chapter, provide to the Township Clerk the following information regarding the residents of said facility:
(1) 
Name.
(2) 
Age.
(3) 
Sex.
(4) 
Next of kin to be notified in case of emergency.
(5) 
A statement as to whether or not the patient is bedridden and, if so, the location of said patient or boarder within the facility.
B. 
The nursing home shall be responsible for updating this information every two weeks and notifying the Township Clerk of any changes with respect to the information required hereinabove.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by one or more of the following: by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
