[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Northport 10-4-1966 by L.L. No. 3-1966 as Ch. 32 of the 1966 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Carrying of firearms by constables — See Ch. 49, § 49-4.
As used in this chapter the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes a natural person, firm, copartnership, association, company or corporation and all other entities of any kind capable of being sued.
No person shall discharge any firearm or explosive at any time. This prohibition shall not apply to law enforcement officers lawfully engaged in official duties. No hunting shall be allowed within the limits of the village. Where it is necessary to do blasting, a permit may be obtained from the Code Compliance Director, subject to such regulations as he shall require and payment of a fee as set forth in Chapter 147, Fees.

No person shall use an air rifle, a slingshot or throw a stone or any other missile in any public street or other public place.

Each violation of this chapter or of any regulation, order or rule promulgated thereunder shall be punishable by a fine of not exceeding $250, imprisonment for a term not to exceed 15 days, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each offense, and each day a violation continues shall be a separate offense. Further the village may also enforce obedience to this chapter by injunction or any other available remedy.
