No person shall kindle or maintain any outdoor rubbish fire or bonfire
or authorize any such fire anywhere within the Incorporated Village of Northport
to be kindled or maintained without a permit.
During construction or demolition of buildings or structures, no waste
materials or rubbish shall be disposed of by outdoor burning on the premises
or in the immediate vicinity without having obtained a permit.
No person shall kindle or maintain any outdoor rubbish fire or bonfire
or authorize any such fire to be kindled or maintained on private land unless:
The Chief of the Fire Department may prohibit any or all outdoor rubbish
fires and bonfires when atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make
such fire hazardous.
No person shall kindle a fire upon the land of another without permission
of the owner thereof or his agent.
A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not to
exceed $250, imprisonment for a term not to exceed 15 days, or both such fine
and imprisonment, for each offense, and each day a violation continues shall
be a separate offense.
