The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town of Southampton to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.

The following public servants of the Town of Southampton are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violation of a state statute, a local law, ordinance, rule or regulation of the Town of Southampton that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:
A. 
Town Planning and Development Administrator, Assistant Town Planning and Development Administrator, Chief Building Inspector, Principal Building and Zoning Inspector, Senior Building and Zoning Inspector, Building Inspector, Building and Zoning Inspector, Community Development Housing Technician, Senior Electrical Inspector, Electrical Inspector, and Building Plans Examiner for alleged violations.
B. 
Senior Bay Constable, Bay Constables, Marine Patrol Officers.

C. 
The Public Safety and Emergency Management Administrator, Chief Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief Fire Marshal, Fire Marshal I, Fire Marshal II, Ordinance Inspector, Ordinance Enforcement Officers, Park Rangers, traffic control officers, traffic control specialists.

Animal Control Officers.

An appearance ticket other than for parking shall be served in any manner authorized under New York State Criminal Procedure Law. A licensed process server retained by the Town Attorney is hereby authorized to serve appearance tickets.
