Pursuant to the authority of Subdivision 5(a)
of § 458 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New
York, the Town Board of the Town of Cheektowaga hereby provides for
the prorating of veterans' real property tax exemptions should property
be assessed at full value.
If the ratio between the exemption granted under
§ 458 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York
and the total assessed value of the real property in the town for
which such exemption has been granted increases, due only to a full
value assessment in the town, the amount of exemption heretofore or
hereafter granted under said § 458 shall increase in such
subsequent year in the same proportion as the total assessed value
has been increased.
This article shall take effect immediately upon
the application of the full value assessments generated by Erie County's
revaluation program.
