It is the desire and intention of the municipal authorities of the Borough of Oakmont to organize an Authority under the "Municipality Authorities Act of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Five," approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, its amendments and supplements,[2] for the purpose of exercising any and all of the powers conferred by said Act.

Editor's Note: On 2-19-1945, Resolution No. 931 was passed authorizing the Municipal Authority to adopt a seal and procure records, equipment and quarters. On 11-12-1946, Resolution No. 1000 fixed salaries of the governing body and Secretary of the Municipal Authority.

The name of the proposed Authority is "The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Oakmont."
The proposed Articles of Incorporation of said Authority are as follows:
Articles of Incorporation
To the Secretary of the Commonwealth:
In compliance with the requirements of the "Municipality Authorities Act of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Five," the Borough of Oakmont, desiring to incorporate a Municipal Authority, does hereby certify:
(a) The name of the Authority is The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Oakmont.
(b) The Authority is being formed under the "Municipality Authorities Act of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Five," approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, as amended by the Act of May 20, 1937, P.L. 739 and as further amended by the Act of May 17, 1939, P.L. 167.
(c) No other Authority organized under the acts set forth in paragraph (b) or under the Act approved December Twenty-Seventh, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Three (Special Session, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Three, Pamphlet Laws, One Hundred Fourteen), is in existence in or for the Borough of Oakmont.
(d) The incorporating municipality is the Borough of Oakmont, whose municipal authorities and their addresses are as follows:

(f) The term of existence of said Authority is hereby increased to the date 50 years from the date of the approval by the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the Articles of Amendment proposing such increase in the term of the existence of said Authority, be and the same is hereby approved and adopted.

The following persons, all of whom are residents of the Borough of Oakmont, are hereby appointed members of the Board of Authority with the following terms of office:
Robert B. Reed, Jr., residing at 732 Allegheny River Boulevard, Oakmont, Pennsylvania, for a term of five years.
David W. McGeorge, residing at Tenth Street and Virginia Avenue, Oakmont, Pennsylvania, for a term of four years.
Thomas H. McGraw, Jr., residing at Eighth Street and Hulton Road, Oakmont, Pennsylvania, for a term of three years.
James Harry Milligan, residing at 737 Ninth Street, Oakmont, Pennsylvania, for a term of two years.
Norman A. Abel, residing at Twelfth Street and Maryland Avenue, Oakmont, Pennsylvania, for a term of one year.
The Articles of Incorporation of said Authority set forth in § 5-3 of this article shall be executed by the President of Council and Mayor of the Borough of Oakmont and attested by the Secretary of said borough, and they are hereby authorized and directed to do all other things necessary to affect and establish said Authority in conformity with the "Municipality Authorities Act of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Five," approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, its amendments and supplements.[1]

The adoption of this article is deemed necessary for the benefit and preservation of the public health, peace, comfort and general welfare and will increase the prosperity of the people of the Borough of Oakmont and the territory adjacent thereto.
