[Adopted 1-13-1969 as Ch. 11, Art. III, of the 1969 Code]
The office or position of Desk Clerk for the Police Department of the Borough of Oakmont shall be and is hereby created.

It shall be the duty of such Desk Clerk to perform such clerical duties for the Police Department of the Borough of Oakmont as shall be designated from time to time by the Manager of the Borough of Oakmont, subject to the approval of the Borough Council of the Borough of Oakmont, including, more particularly, the keeping of police records.
The hours and times of service of such Desk Clerks shall be such as are fixed by the Manager of the Borough of Oakmont by and with the approval, or subject to the supervision, of the Borough Council of said Borough.

For the services of such Desk Clerks, a salary or compensation in a sum per month as set from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council will be paid. In case of removal, dismissal or resignation, the monthly salary or compensation for the month of such termination shall be prorated.
The services of such Desk Clerk may be continued from month to month, discontinued or suspended at and for such times as the Manager of said Borough may determine, subject to supervision, approval and/or discontinuance by the Council of said Borough.[1]

The persons performing the duties of Desk Clerk in the office hereby created shall not be nor are considered members of the police force of the Borough of Oakmont nor have duties as a policeman, as provided by the police regulations of the Borough of Oakmont and the provisions of the Civil Service Law of the Borough Code[1] or laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
