All driveways extending from the roadways of
the several streets and alleys in the borough over the sidewalks shall
be built of paving brick, which brick shall be placed on their edges
and laid on a good substantial foundation or the same may be of asphaltum
or cement at the option of the property owner. The same shall be laid
from the outside curbline of the sidewalk to the property line and
the curbing, of the character and kind established for sidewalks,
shall be constructed on either side of said driveways and extending
from the outside curbline of the sidewalk to the property line, and
the top of said curbing shall be leveled with the sidewalks. The side
of said driveway at said curbline shall be three inches below said
curbing, and the driveway shall be deemed to be and constitute a part
of the sidewalk of said borough.
Any person violating any of the provisions of
this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine
of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and in default of
payment of such fine and costs by imprisonment for not more than 30
days.
