[HISTORY: Adopted by the Historic District Commission of the Town of Old Lyme 12-3-1973. Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Building construction — See Ch. 25.
Historic District — See Ch. 62.
The exterior alteration, erection, demolition or relocation of a building in the Historic District requires a certificate of appropriateness from the Historic District Commission. An application for such certificate is secured from and submitted to the office of the Building Official. If the proposed alterations will appreciably change the exterior appearance of the building, the Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing before approving or disapproving such application. However, for general maintenance and repair and other work not noticeably affecting exterior appearance, the Commission has authorized the Building Official to issue a certificate of appropriateness without a public hearing.
