GENERAL REFERENCES
Increase or decrease in number of Justices — See Charter, § C2-2.
Notwithstanding any Charter provision to the contrary, the number of
Justices of the Peace to be selected in 1996, and quadrennially thereafter,
shall be 48, 2/3 of which number shall be selected in equal numbers by the
major parties as defined by Connecticut General Statutes § 9-372(5),
and 1/3 of which number will be selected from the enrollment lists of the
minor parties, as defined by Connecticut General Statutes § 9-372(6),
and unaffiliated voters.
