[HISTORY: Adopted by the Representative Town Meeting of the Town of Branford 6-13-1984. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Town of Branford hereby adopts the provisions of Chapter 50, Sections 4-124i to 4-124p, inclusive, of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut concerning Regional Councils of Government.
The Regional Council of Governments shall be entitled to exercise all of the rights and authority and shall be subject to all of the responsibilities and duties provided for in the General Statutes. Said powers and duties shall consist of consideration of such matters of a public nature common to two or more members of the Council as it deems appropriate, including matters affecting the health, safety, welfare, education and economic conditions of the area comprised by its members.
The Council shall promote cooperative arrangements and coordinate action among its members and make recommendations therefor to the members and such other public and private agencies as exist or perform functions within the region.
A. 
The planning duties and responsibilities of the Regional Council of Governments shall be carried out exclusively by a Regional Planning Commission in accordance with Section 4-124o of the General Statutes.[1]

B. 
The Planning Commission shall appoint one of its members to be its representative to the Regional Planning Commission, said appointment subject to the concurrance of the First Selectman.
The First Selectman is hereby authorized to represent the Town of Branford in the deliberations of the Council.
