Purchasing — See Ch. 75.
No real or personal property of the Town of Branford, whether new or used, shall be sold except to the highest responsible bidder after advertising the sale of the property in some newspaper having a general circulation in the Town.
Except to the extent prohibited by law, the requirement for bids hereunder may be waived by unanimous vote of the Board of Selectmen if, in the opinion of the Board, such waiver is in the best interests of the Town.
No Town agency, Town officer or the Board of Selectmen shall acquire, sell, lease, mortgage, abandon, gift, transfer or encumber in any manner real property of the Town until such action has been approved by a majority vote of the members of the R.T.M. Nothing herein shall waive the requirements of Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-24, as amended from time to time.
