The Town of Colchester herewith acts pursuant to authority set forth
in C.G.S.§ 7-330 to join and become a full member of the Southeastern
Connecticut Tourism District, a municipal district organization formed pursuant
to said § 7-330 for the purpose of implementing and receiving benefits
as provided in Public Act 81-417 (C.G.S.§ 7-136a through 7-136c).[1]

The Board of Selectmen shall appoint representatives to said district
in the number provided in C.G.S.§ 7-300. Based upon the 7,761 population
of the Town of Colchester as determined by the federal census of 1980, the
town at the time of passage of this chapter is entitled to three district
representatives. Said representatives shall be appointed forthwith after the
passage of this chapter with the initial appointments to be as follows: one
term for one year, one term for two years and one term for three years. Upon
expiration of each of the initial terms, representatives subsequently appointed
shall serve for terms of three years each.
The purpose of this chapter is to secure to the Town of Colchester the
benefits and privileges provided for in Public Act 81-417, as same may be
amended from time to time.
