Pursuant to § 9-185 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the Town Manager shall appoint up to four Constables for a term of three years, subject to the approval of the Town Council, in lieu of constables to be elected under § 9-200.[1]

Editor's Note: This ordinance also provided that the terms of office of the Constables currently serving shall expire at the end of the day on which the 1985 Town election is held.
