This chapter shall be known as the "Open Air Motor Vehicle Storage Ordinance" and may be so cited.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTOR VEHICLE
Every device in, upon or by which a person or property is or may be transported upon a highway, excepting devices moved by human power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
STORE or STORED
The keeping of a motor vehicle upon any lands within the borough for a period of 30 days or more.
A. 
No person shall store or permit to be stored upon any lands within the Borough of Barnegat Light any motor vehicle which does not have attached thereto registration plates authorizing the operation of the vehicle upon public streets and highways, unless the motor vehicle is garaged. Any exceptions require advance approval of the Borough Council and Mayor.
B. 
A service station operating within the Borough of Barnegat Light may store motor vehicles for a period not to exceed one year after the expiration of the motor vehicle registration of the vehicles, provided that vehicles so stored are registered with the Police Department.
