The Stratford Board of Tax Review shall hereinafter
be known as the Stratford Board of Assessment Appeals.
The Board of Assessment Appeals shall consist
of three electors of the Town appointed by the Town Council, for a
term of four years, except during any assessment year in which a reevaluation
becomes effective and for the assessment year following such year
of revaluation. In such event, the Town Council shall appoint two
additional members to the Board. The additional members shall serve
for the assessment year in which such reevaluation becomes effective
and for the following such year; thereafter, the term of such additional
members shall automatically expire.
The Town Council shall appoint no fewer than
two, nor more than three, alternates to serve as an alternate member
of the Board of Assessment Appeals. Each alternate member shall be
an elector of the municipality. When seated, an alternate member shall
have all of the powers and duties of a member of the Board of Assessment
Appeals.
The Board of Assessment Appeals shad exercise
the full power and authority conferred upon such Board pursuant to
state law.
