[At the Annual Town Meeting held 4-7-1981,
Article 16, "To see if the Town will vote to codify all Town By-Laws
and rules and regulations by renumbering according to the final report
of General Code Publishing Company dated January 1980 and increase
all fines to not more than $200 per offense and to authorize the Board
of Selectmen to number subsequently enacted By-Laws and regulations
in accordance with said report," was passed. Said article was approved
by the Attorney General 8-12-1982. At the Annual Town Meeting held
4-20-1982, Article 27, "To see if the town will vote to adopt the
provisions of Chapter 109 of the Acts of 1981, an act increasing the
penalty for violations of local By-Laws from $200 to an amount not
to exceed $300," was passed. Said article was approved by the Attorney
General 8-10-1982.]

In conjunction with the preparation of supplements to the Town
Code, the Town Clerk, after consultation with Town Counsel, may make
nonsubstantive editorial revisions to the Town Code to ensure consistent
and appropriate sequencing of numbering of sections, subsections,
paragraphs and subparagraphs, provided that all such editorial revisions
shall be referenced by a footnote which describes the revision and
the reason therefor.
