[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Health of the Town of Yarmouth 9-9-1981. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Two or more staff members of each establishment shall be required to have the following certifications from a Board of Health approved agency, and it shall be required that one staff member be available on the premises during pool operating hours. Copies of certificates shall be on file at the office of each establishment. The certified programs are as follows:
A. 
Certified seven-and-one-half-hour cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course, certificate valid for one year; a two-and-one-half-hour refresher course, certified annually.
B. 
Standard first aid seven-and-one-half-hour course, certificate valid for three years.
C. 
Basic water safety program for nonswimmer rescue, certificate valid for three years; or
D. 
Entire hotel/motel pool safety seminar program approved by the American Red Cross, or its equivalent, Red Cross program certificate, or its equivalent, valid for three years, excluding the CPR certification, which is renewed annually.
Signs stating the following must be posted at each pool entrance and in the office:
A. 
No glass containers shall be permitted in the pool or on the walkways within eight feet of the pool.
B. 
No person with a communicable disease is allowed to use the pool.
C. 
All persons are required to take a cleansing shower/bath before entering the pool.
D. 
Children under the age of 14 and any nonswimmer must be accompanied by an adult swimmer within the pool area.
E. 
Water slides shall be used by one person at a time, sliding in a sitting position, feet first.
F. 
There shall be no swimming alone.
G. 
Diving boards shall be used by one person at a time.
A. 
Water slides shall be positioned in an area not above a water depth of 4 1/2 feet.
B. 
Self-closing, self-latching gates shall be required at each entrance, with gate locks to be a minimum of four feet above the ground. All gates shall be locked during nonoperating pool hours.
Time compliance for regulations is as follows:
A. 
Compliance with self-closing, self-latching gates shall be within four weeks after adoption of these regulations.
B. 
Compliance with remaining rules and regulations shall take place as soon as possible and will be mandatory prior to issuance of 1982 pool permits, at which time each establishment must submit proof of compliance.
In addition to the above rules and regulations, the following are recommended as house rules:
A. 
Pool hours of operation should be posted.
B. 
Post a sign stating "Pool use for registered guests only. All others must register at office."
C. 
Signs stating pool regulations should be posted in each room.
