[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Scotia 8-13-1969 as Section 1-4.02 of Ch. 1, Art. IV, of the 1969 Code of Ordinances. Amendments noted where applicable.]

There shall be a Planning Board comprised of five members, each appointed for a five-year term. One member shall be appointed at each annual meeting. An appointment to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term may be made at any regular meeting. One member shall be designated Chairman.

There shall be appointed one alternate member to the Planning Board that shall be appointed in the same manner as regularly appointed members. The alternate member shall have a two-year term of office. It shall be the responsibility of the alternate member to serve in the place and instead of a regularly appointed member who is unable to serve due to absence, disqualification, resignation or conflict of interest. Such service shall be temporary in nature and be limited to a specific meeting or a specific case. When sitting as a regular member, the alternate member shall have the same qualifications, authority and power as a regularly appointed member of the Planning Board.

Planning Board members and the alternate member shall complete four hours each year as further provided by the Board of Trustees. The Mayor may, after notice and hearing, remove any member of such Board who shall fail to fulfill the training requirements.
