Fire hydrants on Scotia's water system are for emergency and municipal uses only. Hydrants are to be operated only by firefighters or Scotia's employees. Hydrants are not to be used for filling swimming pools, privately owned tankers, lawn-care processes and other nonessential uses.
Any exceptions to the above policy must be reviewed by the Village Department of Public Works and approved by the Water and Sewer Committee or the Village Board of Trustees.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen (15) days, or both.
