The Township is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for the mutual aid of police services between the municipalities of Aspinwall, Blawnox, Bradford Woods, Etna, Fox Chapel, Hampton, Indiana, Marshall, Millvale, O'Hara, Pine, Reserve, Richland, Ross, Shaler, Sharpsburg and West Deer and any other member police departments of the NEWCOM Communications Dispatch Center.
The intergovernmental cooperation agreement, attached hereto and made a part of this article,[1] between the Township and the above municipalities is hereby approved and ratified in all respects.

The conditions of the agreement are those conditions set forth therein.
The agreement shall be effective for one year commencing March 1, 1998, and will remain in effect on a year-to-year basis thereafter, until renewed, amended or terminated as set forth in the agreement.
The purpose and objectives of the agreement are those purposes and objectives set forth therein.
The power and scope of authority of the agreement are the power and scope of authority as set forth therein.
The manner and extent of financing of the costs of the mutual aid rendered shall be the manner and extent as set forth in the agreement.
The agreement is an agreement to provide mutual aid upon request, and it is not anticipated that an organizational structure will exist.

The proper officers of the Township are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to the other municipalities the attached agreement and any additional documents to effectuate the purposes of this article as well as the agreement.
This article is adopted pursuant to the powers and authority of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, 53 Pa.C.S.A. § 2301 et seq.
