A. 
The maintenance and repair of private fire mains shall be the responsibility of the property owner.
B. 
Preventive maintenance shall be performed according to standards set forth by the Commissioner and the Fire Chief.
C. 
Maintenance and repair shall be performed by contractors or individuals licensed by the Commissioner of Public Works per § 608-17.
D. 
Inspection, testing and maintenance of fire mains, hydrants and appurtenances shall be performed according to the current edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 25: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems.
E. 
The property owner or his representative shall annually file an inspection report of the condition of the fire mains, hydrants and their appurtenances certifying good condition and operation with the Fire Department.
