A. 
There shall be a Board of Assessments for Local Improvements consisting of three members appointed by the Township Manager in consultation with the Township Council.
B. 
The terms of the initially appointed three members shall commence upon the day of their appointment and shall be and continue for the periods of one, two and three years respectively, beginning on January 1 next succeeding such appointment. All subsequent appointments shall be for the full term of three years, to take effect on January 1.
C. 
Vacancies resulting from the unexpired term of any member of the said Board shall be filled for the unexpired term only.
A. 
The members of the Board of Assessments for Local Improvements shall have all the powers and duties of the making of all assessments accruing from local improvements in accordance with and subject to general law and ordinances not inconsistent therewith.
B. 
The Board of Assessments for Local Improvements shall be paid as compensation for its services a sum equal to 1% of the total assessment made in each case, which sum shall be added to and become a part of the said assessment and which sum shall be divided equally among the members of the said Board.
