A. 
The official workweek of the Township shall be a five-day, forty-hour week. The Council, however, may reduce the hours of work required of employees in specific departments to not less than 35 hours per week.
B. 
The Township Manager shall set forth the hours of work for each department, including the amount of time that shall be allowed for lunch.

A. 
Due to the emergency nature of the work of the Police Department, the provisions of this section shall not be applicable to the members of that Department.
B. 
Official holidays.

(1) 
The following official holidays with pay shall be observed by the Township for actively working employees: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

(2) 
In addition to the above, the Township shall observe six floating holidays which shall be designated each year by the Township.
C. 
If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday. In the event that a holiday falls on a Saturday, and no alternate day for holiday observance is designated by the Township Manager, then the employee shall be entitled to a day's pay for the Saturday holiday.

D. 
Where it is necessary to maintain service requiring an employee to work on an official holiday, such employee shall be compensated by being permitted to take an equal amount of time off with pay on a regular working day at a time approved by the Township Manager.
E. 
In the event that an official holiday is observed during an employee's vacation, he shall be entitled to an additional vacation day, and, should an official holiday occur while an employee is on sick leave, he shall not have that holiday charged against his sick leave.
F. 
Due to the emergency nature of the work of the Police Department and the fact that members cannot be given normal holiday privileges, each member of the Police Department shall be entitled to additional pay for seven paid holidays. Such payment shall be made on December 15 of each calendar year, subject to the following conditions:

An employee must be actively employed as of December 1 of the calendar year to be eligible for the seven paid holidays.
(2) 
Should an employee terminate this service prior to December 1, he shall receive holiday payment according to the following schedule:

G. 
Each new employee of the current calendar year serving in the Police Department shall be entitled to the following minimum number of holidays with pay as per the following schedule:

H. 
Nothing in this section shall be construed to apply to any person whose employment has been terminated for any reason prior to the adoption of this section.
