[Adopted by 3-18-1946, Ch. 13, Art. 9, of the former Revised Ordinances]
It shall be unlawful for any person to:
A. 
Resist any police officer or member of the Police Department in the discharge of his duties or in any way to interfere with or hinder or prevent him from discharging his duties as such officer or member or to threaten him or attempt so to do.
B. 
In any manner to assist any person in the custody of any police officer or member of the Police Department to escape or attempt to escape from such custody or attempt to rescue any person so in custody.

Any person who violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both.
