There is hereby established the position of
Confidential Aide to the Mayor.
The duties and powers of said position are to
perform such services as shall be required of him/her from time to
time as determined by the Mayor and to assist the Mayor in the proper
and lawful discharge of his duties and responsibilities on a day-to-day
basis as required by the Mayor.
The Mayor without the advice of the Council
may appoint the Confidential Aide.
The person appointed by the Mayor as his Confidential
Aide need not be a resident of the Borough of Palisades Park.
The annual salary of the Confidential Aide shall
be as established by the Mayor and Council in the Annual Salary Ordinance
and he/she shall receive no other benefits or emolument for this position.
The initial compensation shall be $5,000 and shall be prorated for
the balance of 2005 starting from the date of appointment.
The Confidential Aide shall serve at the pleasure
of the Mayor and continue in such position in the sole discretion
of the Mayor, who may suspend and/or discharge the Confidential Aide
without cause.
By the very confidential nature of this position,
the Confidential Aide to the Mayor shall be considered a managerial
employee.
