The purpose of this chapter is to create a Parking
Commission, which will monitor parking conditions in the Borough of
Palisades Park and make recommendations to the Mayor and Council.
The Parking Commission of the Borough of Palisades Park is hereby
established.
A.
The
Parking Committee shall consist of five persons whom the governing
body shall appoint by resolution as follows:

C.
If any Commissioner owns or controls a direct or indirect
interest in any property included or planned to be included in a parking
project, he shall immediately disclose said interest, in writing,
to the Commission, which disclosure shall be entered upon the minutes
of the Commission.

D.
The seats on the Parking Commission shall be designated
as Seat Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

E.
The initial appointments to Seat Nos. 1 and 2 shall
be for three years. The initial appointments for Seat Nos. 3 and 4
shall be for two years. The initial appointment for Seat No. 5 shall
be for one year. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for terms of
three years, except appointments to fill vacancies, which shall be
for the unexpired terms.

A.
The function of the Parking Commission shall be to
recommend to the Mayor and Council parking projects within the Borough
of Palisades Park which will promote the safe, orderly and convenient
flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic within the Borough of Palisades
Park.
B.
The Parking Commission is hereby authorized to study
and investigate methods to improve, manage and maintain parking conditions
in the Borough of Palisades Park.
