A. 
No bedroom shall be utilized for sleeping purposes by more than two adult occupants.
B. 
Every room occupied or utilized for sleeping purposes shall be deemed to be a bedroom for the purposes of this article, regardless of the fact that said room may be utilized for other purposes as well as used for sleeping purposes.
C. 
Every room occupied for sleeping purposes by one occupant shall have at least 70 square feet of floor space, and every room occupied for sleeping purposes by more than one occupant shall contain at least 50 square feet of floor space for each occupant thereof. If a room does not include the floor space as described herein, said room shall not be utilized for sleeping purposes.

The occupancy of a structure shall be continued as originally permitted under and in full compliance with the codes in force at the time of construction or alteration. The occupancy of a structure shall not change to another occupancy that will subject the structure to any special provisions of Borough ordinance, New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, or the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code without approval of the construction official.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Uniform Fire Safety Act, the provisions of this article shall be locally enforced within the Borough of Palisades Park by the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
Any owner of property or occupant thereof who shall fail to comply with the provisions of this article shall be subject to the penalty set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-15.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Uniform Fire Safety Act, any person aggrieved by any order of the local enforcement agency (the Bureau of Fire Prevention) shall have the right to appeal to the Construction Board of Appeals of Bergen County.
