A violation of any provision of this chapter, including but not limited to the filing with the Board of any material misstatement of fact or a willful overcharging of rents or a knowing disregard of this chapter, shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-15. A violation affecting more than one tenant shall be considered a separate violation as to each tenant. The Municipal Court is expressly vested with jurisdiction over the determination of violations hereunder and the imposition of penalties.
This chapter is deemed necessary for the welfare of the borough as a
whole and shall be liberally construed to accomplish its purposes and objectives.
The Rent Leveling Board created hereunder and the governing body are
hereby empowered to hear and adjudicate any disputes arising by reason of
the application of any prior ordinance or ordinances covering the same subject
matter as this chapter, pursuant to the provisions of such prior ordinance
or ordinances.
