No person shall within the Village appear on any public street, sidewalk or highway in a bathing suit, and no male shall appear on any public street, sidewalk or highway without being attired in a shirt or other comparable covering.

No person shall within the Village appear on any public street, sidewalk, highway or in any public hall or other public place in a condition or state of intoxication.

A. 
No person shall consume, ingest or take internally any alcoholic beverage as defined in the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law or have in his possession with intent to consume, ingest or take internally the contents of an open container, bottle or can containing any amount of such alcoholic beverage upon any public road, highway or public property owned or controlled by the Village of Port Jefferson or while in a public place within the Village of Port Jefferson, except upon premises where such consumption has been licensed by the State Liquor Authority or by special permit issued by the Village Board of Trustees.
B. 
As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE or BEVERAGE
Includes alcohol, spirits, liquor, wine, beer, cider and every liquid or solid, patented or not, containing alcohol, spirits, wine or beer and capable of being consumed by a human being.
C. 
Vendors of alcoholic beverages, whether packaged goods stores or open container establishments, such as but not limited to bars, restaurants, delicatessens and supermarkets shall prominently display at each exit from the place of business and at each cash register where sales of alcoholic beverages are paid for by purchasers of said beverage in said business establishment a notice or sign giving notice of Subsection A of this section.

D. 
Each notice or sign shall have the following wording in red letters on a white backing, and the minimum size sign at the exits shall be 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches.
Such notices or signs will be made available to each establishment upon request to the Village Clerk at a price not to exceed the cost to the Village. Failure of the Village to supply such signs or notices shall not constitute a defense to any violation of this article.[1]

Any person who violates this article or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in § 1-2 of the Code of the Village of Port Jefferson.
