No person shall operate a motor vehicle or tractor
upon any sidewalk in the Township; nor shall any person operate a
motor vehicle upon or across any sidewalk except in order to gain
access to or egress from a driveway or alley at such locations where
the curb, if such sidewalk is curbed, shall have been properly cut
down for the purpose.

A.
The use of speed-timing devices, as defined and set
forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and the regulations promulgated
pursuant thereto, is hereby approved in and for Caln Township to aid
in the enforcement of speed restrictions applicable within the borders
of the Township. The police officers of the Township are hereby authorized
and directed to use approved speed-timing devices to aid in the enforcement
of speed restrictions applicable within the borders of Caln Township.
B.
All types of speed-timing devices permitted by the
Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto,
as the same may be amended from time to time, are hereby approved
for use by all Township police officers. The speed-timing devices
hereby approved include mechanical, electrical and electronic devices
as set forth in the Vehicle Code, provided that those devices shall
be of the type approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
as provided in the Act of June 17, 1976, P.L. 162, No. 81, Section
1; 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368, and the regulations promulgated
thereunder.
C.
The speed-timing devices designated in Subsection B hereof shall include, by way of example, but need not be limited to the devices set forth in Section 105.51 of Title 67 of the Pennsylvania Code, including: "Electrical Speed Timing Systems," manufactured by Richard Hageman; "Model TK-100 Excessive Speed Preventer," manufactured by Systems Innovation, Inc.; "Speed Check," manufactured for the Union Agency; mechanical equipment as set forth in the reference section of the Pennsylvania Code, including stopwatches and the "speed machine" manufactured for the Union Agency; and electrical-mechanical equipment as set forth in Section 105.91 of Title 67 of the Pennsylvania Code, including "Vascar-Plus," manufactured by Traffic Safety Systems, Inc., and Enradd EJU-91 Wireless System as specified in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, 33 Pa.B. 3806.

Legible signs giving public notice of the use of speed-timing
devices in Caln Township may be posted at or near the public highways
at the boundaries of or within the Township.

signs shall be erected in such a position upon the first-named highway
as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway in the direction

A.
Terms defined.
(1)
For the purposes of this section, a "truck"
shall be defined as set forth in the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code,
75 Pa.C.S.A. § 102, as follows:

"TRUCK. A motor vehicle designed, used or maintained
primarily for the transportation of property."
|
(2)
Additionally, a "truck tractor" shall be as
defined in the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code as follows:
|
"TRUCK TRACTOR. A motor vehicle designed and
used primarily for drawing other vehicles and not so constructed as
to carry a load other than a part of the weight of the vehicle and
load so drawn."

B.
Location. No truck or truck tractor shall be permitted
to be operated upon the entire length of G.O. Carlson Boulevard as
presently installed and as lengthened by the Township from time to
time.
C.
Erection of signs. Signs shall be erected by the Township
in accordance with the provisions of the Vehicle Code and in compliance
with the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
D.
Violations and penalties. Anyone violating any of
the provisions of this section by operating a truck or truck tractor
upon any section of G.O. Carlson Boulevard as presently installed
or as hereafter lengthened shall be subject to proceedings and penalties
as set forth in the Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
any commercial vehicle or other tractor, trailer or tractor-trailer
combination having a gross weight in excess of that herein respectively
prescribed upon any of the highways or portions thereof described
below, except for the purpose of making local deliveries or pickups
(including trash trucks) on such highways:

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
any vehicle or tractor upon any highway in the Township that is under
construction, resurfacing or repair, in disregard of any official
sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic.
A.
The Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized to
designate as play highways, whenever it shall deem such action advisable
and for whatever period of time directed by it, any portion of any
highway in the Township whereon sledding and coasting shall be permitted.
Such highway shall be set apart for the purpose under the direction
of the Board of Commissioners.
B.
No person shall operate any motor vehicle or tractor
upon any play highway at any time when such highway shall be so designated,
except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Board
of Commissioners or of the police officer in charge, who shall first
clear such play highway of all persons using such highway for the
purpose for which it was set aside.
C.
The portions of highways described below are hereby
established as play highways during the times designated:

The operator of any motor vehicle involved in
an accident in the Township and required by law to report such accident
to any department or agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or
any other person required to make such report, shall, at the time
of making such report to the commonwealth, make a written report to
the Chief of Police of the Township containing the same information.
