The provisions of this chapter shall be severable,
and if any of its provisions shall be held to be unconstitutional,
illegal or otherwise invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity
of any of the remaining provisions of this chapter. It is hereby declared
as a legislative intent that this chapter would have been adopted
had such unconstitutional, illegal or otherwise invalid provision
not been included herein.

All previous ordinances of the Township of Caln pertaining
to the regulation of traffic and parking are hereby repealed.
B.Â
The repeal of ordinances provided for in Subsection A above shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or liability incurred in violation of any ordinance or regulation in force immediately prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
C.Â
The provisions of this chapter, insofar as they are
the same as those of ordinances and regulations in force immediately
prior to the enactment of this chapter, are intended as a continuation
of such ordinances and regulations and not as new enactments.

Unless another penalty is specifically provided for in Subsection B below, any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution, and in the event of nonpayment of such fine and costs of prosecution, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 days.

Any person who shall violate any provision of a section
listed below shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of
not more than that specified for violation of said section, and in
the event of nonpayment of such fine and costs of prosecution, such
person shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding
that indicated for said section:

C.Â
A notice of violation of any of the provisions set
forth above may be initiated by either the placing on the vehicle
parked in violation of a notice containing instructions to the owner
or operator of such vehicle that if he or she shall report or mail
to the Treasurer's office and pay the penalty imposed for said violation,
the same shall save the violator from prosecution. Alternatively,
the Police Department of Caln shall institute a citation charging
a criminal proceeding in a summary case for any of the violations
set forth above in the manner and form prescribed by law.
