It shall be unlawful to burn off any brush, grass or weeds from any lot, within 100 feet of any building, pole, structure, building material or any other inflammable substance, without taking proper precaution.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to store gasoline, oil, tar or any other highly inflammable substance, within or near any building, pole, structure, building material or near or upon the highways of this township, except in the proper receptacles providing for the least possible hazard of fire.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to permit the accumulation of inflammable trash or debris including wastepaper, boxes and floor sweepings in the cellar of or within 50 feet of any building, pole, building material, structure or any other inflammable substance.
Provided, that where any person, firm or corporation, pursuant to an investigation by the Fire Chief of the township, has been duly notified in writing of an existing fire hazard on his or her property located on or near the highway is creating a fire hazard, and shall fail to remove the same within a reasonable time the Highway Committee is hereby authorized and empowered to remove such hazard and the expense for this work shall be borne by the owner to be sued for and recovered in the name of the township as such debts are collectible by law.
The Fire Chief of the Township of Springfield shall hereby be empowered and authorized to enter upon any premises or property without a warrant for the purpose of investigating fire hazards within the Township of Springfield.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to interfere with the Fire Chief of this township while in the discharge of his duty.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this article or any of the regulations pursuant thereto shall be deemed guilty of a breach of this article, and shall be subject to a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $1,000, and in default of payment thereof shall be liable to imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 30 days.
